About Us: The Outaouais Health and Social Services Network The Outaouais region includes 58,000 English-speaking citizens dispersed over a large territory of urban and rural areas. Our network provides the means and opportunity to improve communication, reduce the isolation of small communities, provide health and social services information in English to citizens, and increase partnerships with stakeholders. The Québec health care system has undergone major changes to reorganize the delivery of services with the creation of the new CSSS centres. In the Outaouais, the OHSSN is working with all stakeholders towards improving access to quality health and social services throughout the region. The OHSSN assists individuals by providing information on health and social services and the New! Connexions Resource Centre serves as venue for the exchange and sharing of information. It also helps communities develop their population health knowledge base for implementing and accessing services that meet the needs of their residents. We also co-sponsor community-based workshops and conference events in collaboration with other stakeholders. OHSSN’s has established a coordination “table” (table de concertation) that provides the opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the needs of the English-speaking population’s and establish a regional strategic plan in response to them. The table de concertation serves as a forum where partners from the public, private, and community sectors come together to exchange information, identify gaps in services, and take action. The Community Health and Social Services Network provides support to the Quebec regions through its Health and Social Services Networking and Partnership Initiative, which is funded by Health Canada. The OHSSN is the sponsored initiative for the Outaouais region. Service providers from public or private institutions and community organizations who wish to obtain information about the English-speaking population’s needs and resources should contact the OHSSN Coordinator, Danielle Lanyi at dlanyi@ohssn.org. Anyone with queries or concerns regarding access to, or quality of, regional health and social services, should contact the OHSSN at (819) 777-3206 or by e-mail info@ohssn.org
